The Requirements

• The proactive business development manager will have previous experience driving sales within the conference and events venues market
• Be able to use own initiative and have the ability to negotiate rates to secure new and repeat business at all times
• Proactive sales within large meetings and events is essential
• Flexible approach to work, as the role will entail a mix of work from the office and home alongside working on site at the venue, with the remaining time out visiting prospects and clients 
• Respond and convert new large event enquiries 
• Start to finish enquiry handling including proposal, site tour, negotiation, event contract and final event details 
• The business development manager will follow up sales leads, attend events and present the group to prospective clients
• You will have a passion and enthusiasm for delivering exceptional customer service

The Job Role

• Proactively source new business in key areas, specialising in exhibitions and large conference and events sales
• Responsible for client show rounds and to attend on and off site appointments 
• Maximising revenue and sales across all business streams at all times
• Showcasing the venue to build connections
• Inbound enquiry handling and maximising conversion 
• Maximise revenue and achieve sales targets
