Facilitating collaborative conversation with first HR Hackathons from Talent Hive

Fulfilling our ethos and value of building meaningful relationships that deliver real value, the Talent Hive team recently successfully hosted our first-ever HR Hackathon events.

The events, which took place on 16th April, at Covene, 22 Bishopsgate in London, and on 23rd April, at X+WHY in Manchester saw 40 of the most prominent, forward-thinking HR professionals from across the hospitality profession come together to listen to key speakers, discuss trends and changes impacting HR across the sector and network with like-minded peers. Two-time TEDx speaker, award-winning author and globally acknowledged Top 100 HR Influencer, Perry Timms, a renowned blogger and international conference speaker on the transformative power of HR professionals, as well as a Chartered Member of the CIPD and founder of PTHR, led both events. As a six-time member of the HR Most Influential list, the attendees had the opportunity to listen to Perry discuss better business, how he champions freedom-centred organisations, the importance of flexibility and workplace inspiration of today.

Perry’s business, PTHR, is renowned for delivering innovative and transformational work solutions and HR, Organisational Design and learning products – supporting clients with a progressive, alternative and unorthodox approach to HR. Delivering success across a varied portfolio of clients, PTHR transforms teams and the way they operate, helping individuals to flourish in the work they do.

Hosted by Perry, the two HR Hackathons were fast-paced by design, collaborative and exciting for the delegates, speakers and organisers alike. Designed to foster creativity, the agenda included sessions intended to engage the audience, focus minds, bringing problem-solving and idea generation to the forefront. The sessions also proved a great networking opportunity, allowing individuals to work together to bring new ideas to life, ultimately generating conversation and building relationships that will benefit HR in hospitality moving forward.

As the first events to take place, in what we hope will be a series of HR Hackathons, the London and Manchester events brought together HR Professionals from the likes of Sodexo, Lexington Catering, Chestnut, Apex Hotels, amongst many others. A future calendar of events will be communicated via our website, newsletter and social media channels, where we hope to gather even more professionals from across the HR industry for the benefit of recruitment and retention in the wider hospitality profession.
